Frequently Asked Questions

HOW MANY PAGES CAN MY PUBLICATION CONTAIN?
The number of pages is only restricted to your computers memory.

HOW MUCH CONTENT CAN I INCLUDE ON A PAGE?
On a standard page ? 800x600 format you can fit approximately 350 words per page in 10 pt size to ensure no scrolling is necessary. Obviously word count will decrease when graphics are added and large font sizes are used.

HOW DO I KNOW HOW MANY PAGES MY PUBLICATION WILL BE WHEN IT?S FINISHED?
On a standard page on 10 pt, a good guide is to divide your total number by 300, therefore allowing for graphics etc.

IS MY CONTENT SAFE?
Your content is completely secure, the finished e-publication is a read-only file. All Flash-Brochure.com digital publications are sealed with a ?Thawte? Content Signed Certificate (Microsoft Authenticode) allowing safe electronic distribution over the Internet.

CAN I HAVE A NON-ENGLISH PUBLICATION?

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO PRODUCE MY DIGITAL PUBLICATION?
Generally, one day to one month depending on our workload and the complexity of the project.

WHAT IMAGES CAN BE INCLUDED?
Images in jpg, gif and windows .bmp can be included in your brochure. Jpg is the preferred format. You can supply your own images or we can create them for you.

CAN I INCLUDE VIDEO OR ANIMATION?
In the ?Standard? format only clickable links to videos or animations can be included. In the ?Flash? format, videos, animation and 360 degree panoramics can be embedded in the pages bringing the publication to life.

IN WHAT FILE FORMATS ARE DIGITAL PUBLICATIONS AVAILABLE?
- .EXE ? creates single executable files that do not require any other program to view it. It may be emailed or downloaded from a website. However these files can be vulnerable to infection by viruses. The best way to avoid infection is to publish your file on a website and send an e-mail to your customers with a download link.
- .DNL ? creates a .dnl file which is a data only file (therefore resistant to viruses). It is smaller than an .exe file, however requires a free once only 30 second downloadable plug-in before it can be viewed. Once downloaded all future publications can be easily viewed in this format.
- Installation Program - will install the e-brochure onto your hard drive and include an easy access short cut icon on your desktop.

WHAT HARDWARE CAN DIGITAL PUBLICATIONS RUN ON?
Minimum 256 colours, we recommend 16 bit colour which most PC users have. You will not currently be able to view the ?Standard? format on MAC. The ?Flash? format is compatible with both PC and MAC.

HOW DO I MAKE CHANGES AFTER MY PUBLICATION IS COMPLETE?
Contact us with the changes and we will provide you with a quote.

HOW LONG TO DOWNLOAD AN E-BROCHURE?
Significantly quicker than other recognised publication download programs. Typically between 2-4 minutes if using a 56k modem.

DO I NEED ANY ADDITIONAL SOFTWARE?
If an .exe version is created, no readers or plug-in will be required. The .dnl version, whilst smaller than an .exe would require the free plug-in before it can be read.
